Pediatric Orthopedic Care

Conservative Pediatric Orthopedic Care

At AOA Orthopedic Specialists we are happy to provide conservative services for pediatric orthopedic care.  We have many providers with a lot of diversity in training with many of our providers seeing all ages of patients, including infants.  In the world of orthopedics there are wide ranges of conditions that a pediatric patient may present with; while we are happy to see pediatric cases, we may recommend that you see an orthopedic pediatric specialist depending on the severity and complexity of the issue. We can see a variety of pediatric cases including Osteochondritis Dissecans, Pigeon Toe, Turf Toe, and Little League Elbow

Diagnosis of Pediatric Orthopedic conditions

We are happy to see patients of all ages to offer diagnostic services and physical examinations.  We are happy to identify and treat, or refer out if needed, for any pediatric orthopedic condition.

Casting pediatric orthopedic fractures

Many fractures are treatable with specialized splinting or casting.  We offer treatment of pediatric orthopedic conditions that require splinting and casting.

Pediatric Physical Therapy and Training

Many orthopedic conditions get better with physical therapy, pediatric patient or adult, and we are proud to offer convenient Physical therapy locations throughout the metroplex.  We also have a state-of-the-art training facility, the Performance Institute, in Mansfield for athletes of all ages to maximize their physical potential.

Pediatric Orthopedic Surgical Intervention

Pediatric Orthopedic Outpatient Surgery

If a pediatric orthopedic patient requires surgery, we are happy to perform the intervention unless it compromises the patients best interests.  We are happy to work up any case but we will not take on a surgical intervention that is requiring additional specialization in pediatrics or out of our scope of treatment.  Most sports injuries and fractures would be appropriate for us to treat.  A good rule of thumb is that if the surgical intervention can be done in a day and the patient can go home then we can most likely perform it.

Pediatric Orthopedic Inpatient Surgery

While we have many surgeons that can perform complex inpatient surgeries, we are not affiliated with any hospitals that allow pediatric patients to stay overnight. For cases such as these we would recommend a provider that works out of a pediatric specific hospital.
