Occupational Therapy

What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy involves assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the management of an injury or condition, with the goal of improving the balance and function of the musculoskeletal system. This therapy plays a pivotal role in your recovery and rehabilitation when you have musculoskeletal injuries or conditions affecting proper movement.

What to expect

Our occupational therapists work closely with our orthopedic surgeons to achieve treatment goals, and provide for your ongoing rehabilitation and care. We’ll help you manage and overcome some of the limitations caused by your condition or injury, assessing the abilities and lifestyle you had prior to the surgery or illness, and presenting future lifestyle expectations. By helping you to work and live independently, as well as helping to improve your well being, occupational therapy can go a long way toward improving the quality of your life.

Our doctors have been educated and trained in some of the most prestigious medical institutions in the world. Many of them have contributed research and articles to major medical journals, and have served as team physicians and assistants to a variety of professional and high school sports organizations.  Here at AOA Orthopedic Specialists we believe in offering the most advanced, evidence based, medical treatments in orthopedics.  We offer many minimally invasive procedures for patients that fit the right criteria.  We can optimize knee replacements with the latest robot assisting technology.  We can even grow a patient’s own cartilage and replace damaged regions of cartilage with healthy bioidentical tissue.

AOA welcomes our new physician, Dr. Jonathan Walsh to the practice!
